What this changes

Save it, or replace it?

To be clear about what we are: A New You is an implant and denture practice. Periodontal surgery is something we also do — for our own patients, and for patients referred to us by other dentists — not the whole of what we are.

Most dental questions have an obvious answer. The expensive ones don't. A molar with deep bone loss can be treated periodontally and kept for years — or it can be removed now, with the socket grafted, so the implant that replaces it sits in good bone.

Ask a periodontist alone and the instinct is to save it. Ask an implant dentist alone and the instinct is to replace it. Both instincts are reasonable and both are incomplete.

Here you get the argument settled in one appointment, by two people who each have to live with the outcome — instead of two opinions a month apart and a decision you're left to referee.
